Will Grealish Stay or Go? Man City Reportedly Considers Midfielder’s Future

The future of Jack Grealish at Manchester City is in doubt, as the defending Premier League champions plan to enhance their squad in the summer transfer window, HITC understands.

Sources have told HITC that Manchester City, who are aiming to win the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup yet again this season, are looking to enhance their squad this summer.

Jack Grealish could leave Manchester City

This could mean some big-name departures from the Etihad Stadium, and one of the players whose future is far from assured is Jack Grealish.

Grealish has endured a difficult campaign with both injuries and form hurting his ability to impact. The 28-year-old former Aston Villa star is yet to start a game this year for the Citizens, who are interested in Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Sources have told HITC that there are some concerns about the £300,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international’s lack of progress in the last 12 months

Grealish signed a six-year contract up to 2027 when he arrived in 2021 from Aston Villa in a £100 million deal. At the time it was a Premier League record deal. The 28-year-old remains the most expensive English player ever.

Jack Grealish not a regular for Manchester City

The attacker is in his third season now, and while he has won a lot of trophies with City, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, he is not guaranteed a place in Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup.

The Englishman has made seven starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. In 2022-23, Grealish made 23 starts in the league, while in 2021-22, the former Villa star made 22 Premier League starts.

City are third in the Premier League table with 63 points from 28 matches, a point behind Arsenal and Liverpool, who are first and second respectively.
