Serena Williams’ six-year-old daughter, Olympia, recently surprised her father, Alexis Ohanian, with a special cake to celebrate Reddit’s public offering (IPO) on Thursday, March 21st.
Ohanian, who co-founded Reddit in June 2005 with Steve Huffman and Aaron Swartz, took to his former social media platform (referencing the recently deactivated Twitter) to share a picture of the cake, affectionately calling it his “IPO cake.”
This milestone held even more significance for Ohanian as he marked the day by remembering his late mother, Anke, who passed away in 2008 from brain cancer. She was diagnosed with the illness just a month after Ohanian began working on Reddit.
Reddit’s IPO proved to be a huge success. The company offered 22 million shares, each priced at $34, during its initial public offering. By the end of the first trading day (Thursday, March 21st), the share price had skyrocketed to $50.44, reflecting a remarkable growth of 48%.
Ohanian celeberated Reddit’s market sucess on thirsday with his daughter Olympia Who bakes him ‘IPO cake’. He posted about it on X(FORMERLY tWITTER).
“Your first granddaughter even made me an IPO cake,” Ohanian addressed his later mother Anke.
