Iga Swiatek is a professional tennis player from Poland. She is the WTA Tour world No 1, as of November 7, 2023.
She won her fourth Grand Slam title at the 2023 Roland-Garros, beating Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in the final and in November, 2023, she won the WTA Finals for the first time to regain the No 1 spot from Aryna Sabalenka.
In 2022, she enjoyed a sensational winning streak (find out more about that later) and also raised money for charities with an exhibition tennis match. She has spoken at length about the emotional impact it has had on her to see war ravage neighbouring Ukraine.
