Mel B ‘s wedding to fiancé Rory McPhee will include a personalised touch as she revealed Victoria Beckham has designed one of her bridal gowns
The singer, 48, has reunited with her Spice Girl bandmate, 49, in preparation for the big day and has entrusted the fashion designer with the important task of creating both her and the mother of the bride’s dress.
Mel also revealed she will tie the knot in at iconic London landmark St. Paul’s Cathedral after being granted special permission to marry at the venue due to the MBE she received in May 2022 for services to charitable causes and vulnerable women.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Janna, Mel revealed: ‘Victoria actually designed my dress and my mom’s dress. It’s such a beautiful honour to get.’
Mel revealed in September 2023 that Victoria was keen to design the dress, and it seems the star has kept her word.
The singer also revealed she is planning three outfit changes for her big day and has her eye peeled for two more dresses.
She explained: ‘I don’t think it would be fair to just have one. Just have as many as you want — at least three, right?’
‘I’m going to really go for it,’ she continued. ‘One to actually get married in, which is the proper ceremony — very proper at this church, St. Paul’s [Cathedral].
‘And then maybe I want to change out of that and be a bit more less… You know, I actually don’t know!’
Mel previously revealed during a radio appearance on 2Day that she had her heart set on one of the most famous wedding venues in England, St. Paul’s Cathedral.
She said at the time: ‘Because I have an MBE I can get married at the same place Princess Diana married Charles. I’m still waiting to here back from St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.
‘We have put all our forms in and we are just waiting on them to give us the day.’
It seems the couple’s application has been accepted as Mel confirmed to Hoda and Jenna that the two would be wed at the famous venue.
