Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Miami Masters by beating No 30 seed Cameron Norrie 7-5, 6-1 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night.
Medvedev, ranked No 4, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 14 seed, and German Dominik Koepfer next.
The Russian won against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (6-4, 6-2) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Miami Open, Norrie, ranked No 31, defeated Italian Flavio Cobolli (7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-2).
