Aryna Sabalenka’s mother Juliya had a hilarious reaction to her daughter’s two Australian Open trophies this year – she wants “at least triplets” next year!
Sabalenka made her first Grand Slam breakthrough by winning the women’s singles and doubles titles in Melbourne. Upon seeing Aryna posing with her two gleaming Australian Open awards, Juliya jokingly commented that the collection needs to grow.
“Congratulations on your babies! But I want at least triplets next year!!!” Juliya posted on social media, poking fun at the fact both trophies look identical.
She then cheekily suggested Aryna needs to “diversify” by targeting the other Grand Slams to complete the set. “We need a Wimbledon trophy, US Open trophy…then we can start decorating the house with them,” Juliya quipped.
Her hilarious reaction underscored how proud she was of Aryna’s incredible Aussie double despite craving even more success for her daughter.
Sabalenka got a kick out of her mom’s witty remarks, replying that she’s doing her best to produce “as many babies as I can” for her.
While said lightheartedly, Juliya’s push for “triplets” underscores the lofty expectations placed on Sabalenka after conquering Australia. If she keeps winning like this, Sabalenka may need a trophy room addition soon!
