ven after 25 years of marriage, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham still engage in the same playful banter that a young couple would enjoy. In their latest foray into the American mainstream, the Beckhams have filmed a commercial with Uber Eats, which will be shown during the Super Bowl, which touches on one of their funniest moments together.
In the ‘Beckham’ documentary which aired on Netflix, the superstar couple created one of the viral moments of the year with a classic piece of English banter.
The former footballer, 48, popped his head around the door after hearing Posh Spice speak about her “working-class” upbringing, reminding her to “be honest”.
When Posh still refused to accept the truth, he asked her what kind of car they drove when she was growing up. Relcutant to admit the truth, she said: “It depends”, and after some pressing, she revealed her parents owned a 1980s Rolls Royce model.
The clip was shared millions of times across social media and it is no surprise that the Beckhams have brought the moment back to life after being cast in a new ad for the fast-food delivery service.
This time, the Spice Girls popstar recreates the moment in a 30-second clip after telling the audience she will be starring in a “little commercial”.
At this point, soccer icon Beckham appears in the shot and tells her to “be honest”. Victoria, 49, clarifies that it is a “big commercial” and David pipes up again with some instructions: “Tell them what it’s during,” he says.
“OK it’s during the big baseball game,” she replied, to which he added, “super big baseball game. Or is it the hockey bowl?” the singer questioned, garnering a sarcastic response from her husband.
“Jessica Aniston is going to be in it too,” she said, purposefully getting the Friends actress’ name wrong while wearing a t-shirt with text emblazoned across it reading: ‘My dad had a Rolls Royce.’
