Coco Gauff, Serena Williams and Emma Raducanu feature as top picks for Chelsea women’s players’ favorite female athletes outside football

In a fun survey, players from Chelsea FC Women’s team revealed their personal picks for favorite female athletes outside of football. Tennis sensations Coco Gauff, Serena Williams and Emma Raducanu topped the list for many players.

18-year-old rising star Lauren James singled out Serena Williams as her most admired athlete, calling Serena “the GOAT” who inspired her to pursue sports excellence from a young age. James’ fellow teenager Amelia Hazard also dubbed Serena her long-time hero both on and off the court.

Meanwhile, England forward Bethany England named US Open champion Emma Raducanu as her favorite, admiring how the teenager made history in tennis while handling fame with grace and maturity. Defender Jess Carter also hailed Raducanu’s historic New York triumph as “game-changing for British sport.”

But teenage phenom Coco Gauff took the title as overall top choice, with players like forward Sam Kerr and defender Anita Asante applauding her poise and potential. Asante described Gauff as “the future of women’s tennis” and a great role model for girls in sports.

While the Chelsea women’s squad executes beautiful football on the pitch, they too draw inspiration from trailblazing female athletes like Serena, Raducanu and Gauff. The tennis stars’ excellence and poise under pressure motivates the footballers to maximize their own potential.
