The WTA Rankings have been updated for another week with Iga Swiatek increasing her lead atop the WTA Rankings as World No.1 over Aryna Sabalenka albeit not as much as she could’ve done in the outset of the Miami Open.
Swiatek losing to Ekaterina Alexandrova meant that a chance to extend her huge lead over her rivals was quelled, but Sabalenka dropped 150 points with a 270 point swing meaning that Swiatek’s lead increases to 2,790 with Coco Gauff most likely to be next to mount a challenge. She is 840 points behind Sabalenka.
She also has clear road ahead of her with Rybakina 1,357 points behind Gauff despite finishing runner-up again in Miami. Jessica Pegula is well adrift. Maria Sakkari’s reversal in fortunes also sees her back up to World Number 7 in the main big winner of this run of tournaments. Ekaterina Alexandrova after beating Swiatek en route to the semi-finals is up to a new career high of World No.15. While Danielle Collins is up 31 spots to 22nd after winning the title.
Others to benefit from superb weeks and rise include Caroline Garcia (23), Victoria Azarenka (26), Katie Boulter (28) and Anhelina Kalinina (33).
