Andrey Rublev sets up clash against Felix Auger Alissime in Rotterdam

Auger-Aliassime Wins Nail-Biter in Swiss Indoors Quarter-Finals - Tennis  Canada

Former champion Andrey Rublev beat Belgian qualifier Zizou Bergs 7-5 6-3 with a break in each set. 

Rublev earned his first break of the match in the 12th game to win the first set 7-5. The Russian player saved two break points in the fifth game of the second set before breaking in the eighth game to win the second set 6-3 in 82 minutes. 

Rublev set up a second round match against Felix Auger Aliassime at the ABN Amro Open in Rotterdam. 

Rublev leads 3-1 in his four head-to-head matches against Auger Aliassime. 

“It was not easy. It was my first match here and I had only one day to practise, so I did not really feel comfortable yet. I was a bit tight. And nervous but in the second set I started to feel better and in the end I was able to win in straight sets”, said Rublev. 

Hubert Hurkacz saved three match points in the tie-break of the second set to battle past Jiri Lehecka 6-3 6-7 (9-11) 7-6 (11-9) after 2 hours and 17 minutes. 

Hurkacz did not convert three match points in the tie-break of the second set but Lehecka saved them before earning the tie-break 11-9. The Pole fended off a match point in the 10th game and three match points in the tie-break of the third set before sealing the win 11-9 in the decisive tie-break on his sixth match point. 

Alex De Minaur beat Sebastian Korda 6-4 6-3. De Minaur broke once in each set and sealed the win on his third match point. 

Alexander Bublik continued his good period of form with a 6-3 6-4 over Borna Coric. Bublik broke in the sixth game of the first set and sealed the first set 6-3 on on his eighth set point. The Kazakh player broke in the fifth game and closed out the second set on his first match point in the 10th game. 

Hurkacz hit 18 aces and saved the three break points he faced. 

Lehecka has not reached the second round in his past three tournaments after winning his title in Adelaide last January. 

Jan-Lennard Struff came back from one set down to hold off 4-6 7-6 (7-5)7-6 (7-4) after 2 hours and 28 minutes. Struff set up a second round match against either Ugo Humbert or Emil Ruusuvuori.
