Novak Djokovic and wife Jelena raise €170,000 through their foundation to lend helping hand to kindergarteners in Serbian village

Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena are once again demonstrating their generosity by raising funds to support childhood education in Serbia. Through their Novak Djokovic Foundation, the couple contributed €170,000 towards building a new kindergarten in the village of Gornji Milanovac.

The donation enabled construction of a modern preschool facility to replace an outdated building that struggled to adequately serve the village’s youngest residents. Thanks to the Djokovic family’s help, around 100 local children ages 3-5 will now benefit from a spacious, well-equipped early learning center.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Djokovic spoke passionately about the importance of high-quality education and instruction during a child’s formative years. He called the new kindergarten a valuable investment in the village’s future.

Djokovic also reflected on his own childhood in Serbia and how community support empowered him to achieve his tennis dreams. The new preschool aims to foster the same nurturing environment for local youth to thrive.

For Novak and Jelena, philanthropy directed towards children holds special meaning as parents themselves. “Supporting the dreams and growth of the next generation is so important to us,” Jelena said.

The Djokovic family’s generosity will surely inspire a new class of curious, engaged students. Their gift to the children of Gornji Milanovac exemplifies using resources and fame to give back. As Novak said, “Helping children brings me true joy.”
